https://luceeserver.atlassian.net/browse/LDEV-4424 was a case in a comment in one of the original stories that was left unresolved by this fix.

Great work , I've checked this ticket with fixed versions. Now using query operators in the commented query lines works fine.
This commit fixes the tickets https://luceeserver.atlassian.net/browse/LDEV-1740, https://luceeserver.atlassian.net/browse/LDEV-2754, and https://luceeserver.atlassian.net/browse/LDEV-3254.

Also, I've created a PR to enable the linked ticket testcases.
